Westerville Safety City
2020 Westerville Safety City Cancellation Notice
The Westerville Safety City Board has recommended that Westerville Safety City 2020 scheduled for June 1-12 be cancelled.
With so much uncertainty surrounding Covid-19 and the closure of schools for the remainder of the academic year, there are
too many unknowns and obstacles to overcome to risk moving forward at this time with the program this year.
Safety City has been held every summer since it began in 1977. We are deeply disappointed about this year but the safety and
well being of all involved in the program is our highest priority. During the next few months we will be exploring opportunities
for students who were not able to attend this year’s program.
We would like to thank the following groups for their many years of support for this program:
Westerville City Schools
Westerville Division of Fire
Westerville Division of Police
Westerville Service Department
Westerville Department of Transportation
Westerville Communications Division
Westerville Citizens Police Academy
Westerville Citizens Auxiliary Resource
Westerville Safety City Staff and Teen Helpers
Please continue to support our business sponsors: McDonald's Westerville, JC Manny, Dairy Queen Westerville, Jet's Pizza Westerville,
and Romeo's Pizza Westerville.
We look forward to resuming our role in assisting incoming kindergarten students learn about rules of traffic and pedestrian
safety, fire prevention, school bus safety, poison control, gun safety, water safety, and stranger awareness in the summer
2021. When updates occur, we will post on our website www.westervillesafetycity.com and on social media.
